Description:
Tenth album from Signum Classics! Armonico Consort! Using a special score created exclusively from Francesco Scarlatti's own handwriting! Christopher Monks, a specialist in late Renaissance to Baroque music! The Armonico Consort, an ensemble that gained much attention with their album "Supersize Polyphony" (SIGCD 560), combining Tallis' "40-voice motet" and Striggio's "60-voice Mass", presents their 10th release with Signum Classics, Christopher Monks' "The Late Renaissance and Baroque Music of Francesco S. Monks", conducted by Christopher Monks. The tenth release with Signum Classics, a collection of Francesco Scarlatti's vocal works conducted by Monks, uses a special score created exclusively for this recording from F. Scarlatti's own handwritten score. The Armonico Consort has been acclaimed by audiences for its engaging and imaginative interpretations. Conductor Christopher Monks, in particular, is extremely knowledgeable in late Renaissance and Baroque music, which he demonstrates in this performance. Tokyo M-Plus
