The orchestra is the Age of Enlightenment Orchestra, led by Handel specialist Lawrence Cummings, and features the famous 18th century London castrato singer Senesino ( Francesco Bernardi), a famous castrato singer who played many of Handel's leading roles in 18th century London. These works are rarely performed today, but their sophistication demonstrates the musical talent of the composers of the time.This album is the result of seven years of research into these works, and Randall Scotting's compelling and overwhelming singing conveys the excellence of the works.
