The complete CPE Bach sonatas on modern instruments!Born in London in 1986, Tamsin Waley-Cohen was acclaimed by master violinist Ruggiero Ricci as "the most talented young violinist I have ever met" and was selected for the ECHO Rising Stars for the 2016-2017 season. Her new album is a collection of C.P.E. Bach's violin sonatas, which was featured in an interview in the July issue of Record Arts. It is a surprising project, a 3-CD set that includes all the original works (10 pieces from Wq.71 to Wq.80) written for violin and keyboard instruments (mostly harpsichord). According to interviews, this will be the first attempt at a cohesive recording with modern instruments.Born as the fifth son of the great Bach, C.P.E. Bach lived in the era of Haydn and Mozart, but showed various aspects of C.P.E. Bach's violin sonatas, such as the multi-sensorial style, the gale force, and the parts that anticipate the Romanticism, with the rich expressiveness that only modern instruments (Stradivarius and Steinway) can provide.
