Chichester Cathedral Choir performs approximately 300 times a year at Chichester Cathedral in Sussex, which has a long history of nearly 900 years. 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. The album, Rest We Forget (We Remember the War Dead), a collection of works on themes of war and peace by leading modern British composers, including Stanford, Iceland, Parry, Elgar, and Howells. It also includes "I vow to thee, my country," Holst's lyrics to the theme of "Jupiter," a popular song of remembrance for the war dead, with beautiful trebles by a 14-member boy choir and alto, tenor and bass by six professional musicians, never The song is a prayer for peace and the horrors of war that must never be forgotten.
