The Hollywood Stars, a group formed in 1973 by rock and roll great and maverick Kim Fowley as "Los Angeles' answer to the New York Dolls. Fowley handpicked talented young musicians from the local scene on the Sunset Strip, starting with Scott Fales, singer of the band Adrian, Terry Rae (Flaming Groovies) and Ruben de Fuentes (Meat Loaf), The Hollywood Stars, with Gary Van Dyke and driver Mark Anthony on rhythm guitar, were a band at the height of "Whisky A Go Go." After a four-year hiatus beginning in 1972, they returned to Whisky in 2019 to entertain local fans. The band's first show was held in Whiskey in 1972. The lineup for this show included Scott Phares on vocals, Ruben de Fuentes and Chaz Monroe on guitar, Terry Rae on drums, and Michael Lammas on bass.
