Formed in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in 1982, FIATLUX is an electro-pop trio consisting of STEVEWRIGHT, WILLHOWARD, and DAVIDPCRICKMORE. From the early days of their Polydor era, they enjoyed cult popularity thanks to their decadent sound and intellectual melodies—notably their early singles produced by Bill Nelson—and established a sophisticated, unique niche within the 1980s new wave scene. Returning to the roots of their Polydor era, they skillfully blend vintage equipment with modern production techniques to deliver their 2026 third album, the culmination of a career spanning over 40 years. Following their comeback album, this new release delves deeper into cinematic spatial expression and the depths of electronica, resulting in a work so rich in creativity that it more than makes up for the band’s long hiatus.
