Description:
A collection of acoustic ballads by Jeremy Pelto! A drumless trio piece featuring George Cables (p) and Peter Washington (b). Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder Studio with beautiful natural reverb. Jeremy Pelto, one of the leading trumpeters of our time, has released his latest work. After a brief change of course to playing with electric instruments, he has recently returned to an acoustic approach and has been consistently releasing new works. Currently, he is actively performing at jazz clubs in New York City. Jeremy Pelto has been releasing a new concept album with each new album, and his last album, an original suite inspired by a painting at the Rodin Museum in Paris, was very well received. This acoustic work features a drumless trio formation, backed by veteran artists George Cables (p), whom he admires, and Peter Washington, a successful bassist. As a leader, sidemen, accompanist, and composer, Pelto has pursued nearly every aspect and genre of jazz, from electric and be-bop to free bop.Pelto on this album is solidly opposite the legendary veteran pianist, and Peter Washington is precise in his bass lines. As the title suggests, the "intimacy" between the three is impressive on this album. The album contains a total of nine songs, including two originals by Pelto and standard tunes. The entire album is a collection of orthodox, warm, and beautiful ballads played in a relaxed and biting manner. The last duet with George Cables, "I'll Never Stop Loving You," is also very moving. Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder Studios in New Jersey. Maureen Sickler, who worked as Van Gelder's assistant engineer for many years, was in charge of the recording. The recording is a masterpiece, with a thorough knowledge of the sound of acoustic instruments.
