Adrian Young and Ali Shaheed Muhammad's JAZZ IS DEAD series has welcomed such legendary musicians as Gary Bartz, Doug Kahn, Azims, Marcos Valli, and Joan Donato. This album is a collection of recordings made in the course of these activities but previously unreleased. The contents, however, are so gorgeous that it is hard to believe that they have never been released before. The album features Antonio Carlos & Jocafi from Salvador, Bahia, known for their sweet samba soul, popular samba soul and samba funk singers Carlos Daffe and Ildon, pianist Don Salvador, who supported samba jazz to the funk era, and Legendary artists who have colored the history of Brazilian music, such as Joyce and Tucci Moreno, who are still at the forefront of everything from bossa nova to MPB, as well as Ghanaian funky highlife great Evo Taylor, who has once again leaped to the forefront with a 21st century reevaluation, will participate as guests.The theme of the JAZZ IS DEAD series is a forward-looking and evolving dialogue with the pioneers of jazz and funk, the original sampling sources in the golden age of hip-hop. This "JAZZ IS DEAD 21" will be pressed in editions of 1,000 copies each in both standard and color. If you are interested, please purchase as soon as possible. The number of copies in stock has not yet been determined due to the limited availability of the product. Delivery will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
