Description:

Rare and previously unreleased recordings are now available on Resonance Records! Roy Hargrove (tp) & Mulgrew Miller (p), who both sadly passed away. Both Roy Hargrove (tp) and Mulgrew Miller (p), who both sadly passed away, have left behind a rare duo concert. Roy Hargrove and Mulgrew Miller. Roy Hargrove and Mulgrew Miller, two jazz giants who both sadly passed away. The album "In Harmony" contains a rare duo concert, and you can listen to the beautiful and divine playing of these two musicians. Roy Hargrove (October 16, 1969-November 2, 2018) debuted in 1987 at the age of 18 as a brilliant trumpeter reminiscent of Clifford Brown and Lee Morgan. He has built his own unique music, incorporating not only jazz but also hip-hop, neo-soul, Afro-Cuban, and many other elements, and continues to influence a number of younger artists, including Keyon Harold and Theo Kroeker. Mulgrew Miller (August 13, 1955-May 29, 2013), on the other hand, made his recording debut in 1981. He absorbed the essence of numerous pianists, including Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, and Herbie Hancock, and developed a royal style of jazz piano. This album is a recording of two concerts they gave together in 2006 at Merklein Hall in New York City and in 2007 at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. It is the only drumless album in Hargrove's discography and a rare duo performance for Miller. The album is produced by two of Resonance Records' best producers, Zev Feldman and Larry Crosier, who was Hargrove's manager. In addition to rare photographs of Hargrove and Miller, there are essays by renowned jazz critic Ted Panken, Sonny Rollins, Christian McBride, Common, Ron Carter, Kenny Barron, John Batiste, Karriem Riggins, and Keyon Harold, Ambrose Akinmusire, Chris Botti, Robert Glasper, Eddie Henderson, and others who were close friends of Hargrove and Miller, accompanied by a booklet full of comments and interviews with these artists. The book is filled with comments and interviews with artists who were close friends of Hargrove and Miller, including Robert Glasper, Eddie Henderson, and many others. The two masterful players are able to play beautifully, sometimes boldly, and at other times with a heart-to-heart rapport that is simply astonishing.
