Zola Jesus, the Wisconsin-raised, NY-based solo project of Nika Roza Danilova, releases "Okovi - Additions", a compilation of four previously unreleased songs and remixes from the recording of her critically acclaimed 2017 release, "Okovi". The album features 9 tracks in total, including 4 unreleased tracks that were created during the recording of the critically acclaimed "Okovi" and did not make it onto the album, and 5 tracks from "Okovi" that were remixed by up-and-coming artists! She describes the album as follows: "Originally, these four songs were included in 'Okovi. Originally, these four songs were supposed to be on "Okovi. Each song reflects my journey during the making of the record and is as important as the songs on the album. The five remixes came about naturally and I love them all. They breathe completely different and new life into the original songs.Returning to her old stomping ground of "Sacred Bones," Okovi has made a complete turnaround from the pop sound of her previous album, returning to a darker sound befitting the name "Queen of Darkness.
