GLORIOUSWOLF, a solo hard progressive project by Dutch guitarist Ruud Deilen—who was also a member of the experimental trio PERPETUALBETA—released its 2026 album via OOB in the Netherlands. Produced as a concept album that, as the title suggests, extols the importance of maintaining “hope for the future” through the story of a child growing into an adult amidst the chaos of modern society—including the spread of AI, climate change, and never-ending wars— In contrast to previous albums—where nearly all parts except vocals were composed of Ruud’s own multi-track recordings—this time a total of eight support musicians and singers participated in the recording, including female pianist Jyoti Verhoeff, who is also active as a solo artist. The album takes his traditional dramatic style—where a solid, guitar-driven hard rock sound is enveloped by an atmospheric ambiance created through diverse synth and keyboard arrangements—to a whole new level. Incorporating old-school progressive rock techniques, it features song structures that transcend the listener’s imagination and delivers a masterful work that captivates with delicate, evocative imagery reminiscent of the current British and Polish melodic rock scenes, making it a truly masterful work.
