The band was founded in 1972 by Ton Scherpenzeel (key) and the late Pim Koopman (drs) as the predecessor of the beat rock band HIGH TIDE FORMATION, and released numerous masterpieces from the 70's until its breakup in 1982. After the band's revival in 1999, they continued to release studio works and perform live with Ton as the leader, but ended their career with a tour in Farewell in 2010. The 3-CD+DVD live album of the tour is finally going to be released from OOB in Holland in 2013! This CD/DVD set includes the best takes from the two shows in Zoetermeer and Hilversum, Holland in spring '22. The same lineup as the members who recorded "Out of This World" in '21, including Bart Schwertman (vo/g/b), Marcel Singor (g), Kristoffer Gildenlow (b), and Hans Eijkenaar (drs), as well as Ton, perform a balanced selection of songs from their most recent and previous studio albums. The live performance was a gorgeous setlist that seemed to look back on the band's history, step by step, with a well-balanced selection of songs from their recent and previous studio albums.In addition to the richness of the ensemble, the excitement of the audience that shows the band's popularity, and the emotionally charged performance by Ton, all captured in both sound and video, this is an amazing performance that is sure to bring tears to the eyes of fans! The CD also includes a bonus CD of a special performance by Kurt Busch, who performed at the Kurt Busch Show. The CD also includes a bonus unreleased studio track, "Looking Down From My Window" Regardless, which may be KAYAK's "last new song". This is also a must-listen!
