Returning to the same trio format as in "Million Waves," where he began his career as a leader, 64-year-old Nguyen Le has throughout his career fused European, especially French, musical culture with his Southeast Asian roots and the music of other continents as well as traditional American jazz and rock. He has fused them with music from other continents.He has released albums such as "Zanzibar" and "Tales from Vietnam" with the Afro-Caribbean band Ultramarine, participated in the groundbreaking neo-flamenco project Jazzpanya, collaborated with the traditional Vietnamese singer Phuong Thanh, and performed in the trio E_L_B with Peter Elskine and in the award-winning Jimi Hendrix project, His work has been diverse, including the trio E_L_B with Peter Elskine, the award-winning Jimi Hendrix project, and many others.
