Description:
Original mono mix of the only 1968 album by Sunset Love, a mystical flower power band from New Mexico that created its own pop-psychedelic/soft rock sound with influences from Mamas & Papas, Spanky & Our Gang, and The Beatles. The brainchild of Tommy Allsup and Gorman Maxwell, who were members of Buddy Holly's Crickets, they were recruited to record at Westex Studios in Odessa, Texas, where Buzz Cason, also of the Crickets, was the producer and recorded 16 songs. The band recorded 16 songs, 12 of which were being prepared for release as an album, but a falling out between Allsup and Maxwell resulted in the aborted release of Aruba, and the band disbanded. This is the first release of the original mono mix of the material they left behind for the phantom album they left behind in 1968. The band's soft, dreamy, psychedelic pop sound is now available for the first time.
