Based in Detroit, the American progressive metal band IMMINENTSONICDESTRUCTION boasts a career spanning nearly 20 years since the formation of their predecessor band, Mellotron. Their fourth studio album, released in 2025—their first in about three years since their previous release in 2022—represents a pinnacle of modern progressive metal, showcasing a delicate yet powerful, highly polished and intricate sound! The band is a five-piece group centered around vocalist and guitarist Tony Piccoli. Pat DeLeon’s powerful drums, Bryan Paxton’s delicate bass lines, Pete Hopersberger’s versatile keyboards, and Scott Thompson’s expressive guitar work fuse together to create a rich and dynamic soundscape. The songs are highly polished, and the contrast between catchy choruses and sophisticated instrumental sections leaves a strong impression on the listener.
