Belgian contemporary composer Robert Grollo began his musical career as a pianist, winning prizes at the 1974 Casagrande International Piano Competition and the 1978 Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition, before traveling to more than 20 countries on four continents and making numerous studio, radio, and television He has performed in more than 20 countries on four continents, made numerous studio, radio, and television recordings, and released more than 120 CDs. Glorow's style, which he says is largely self-taught in compositional techniques, is based on the achievements of the great composers of the Western tradition, blending Anglo-Saxon, Germanic, and Latin elements and consisting of flexible expression and refined forms.In this album, he is the Principal of the Belgian National Orchestra (1998-2017), a member of Belgium's world-class woodwind ensemble "I Solisti del Vento", teaches at the Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherlands and other places around the world, and has frequently given master classes in Japan. The soloist will be the renowned Belgian pianist Jan Michiels, who performed Messiaen's great work "Turangalila Symphony" with Kazushi Ohno (conductor) and the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in January 2018, and Grollo, who is also a conductor, will perform the piece under his own baton with graceful melodies and virtuoso music.
