Peter Aus was invited by Rudolf Zelkin to participate in the Marlborough Music Festival, where he continued his studies under Zelkin. Following Scriabin & Rachmaninoff (CC-72684) and Beethoven (CC-72634), Challenge Classics' third album is Brahms. The last piano sonata, a large-scale and highly accomplished work from his youth, is coupled with Op.76 and Op.79, masterpieces from his mature period. Aus, who is highly acclaimed for his balance of form and musicality, expressive touch, controlled tension, and organic phrasing, gives us a close listen to Brahms's music. King International
