Description:

This is how Tchaikovsky's Violin Concertos first came to be!!!SACD Hybrid disc. Linus Ross, who has garnered attention for his recordings of Weinberg's complete violin works and Shostakovich's unfinished violin sonatas, releases another exciting album. Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 2 is by far the least performed compared to the masterpiece No. 1, and this is a very welcome new recording. Composed for David Oistrakh, it has a strong modern flavor among Shostakovich's later works and is of great interest. Even more intriguing is the original version of Tchaikovsky's masterpiece, the Violin Concerto. This work was refused by Leopold Auer as "unplayable" and was cut and modified, including by Tchaikovsky himself, so it can be said that we do not know what the true original version looks like. Here is the world premiere recording in its original form. It is interesting to note that the second movement has a different phrasing and the designation of the bass clef throughout. Linus Ross was born in 1977 in Ravensburg, Germany, and made his CD debut with EMI in 2006.Since then, among violinists of his generation, he has attracted attention for his performances of composers and curiosities buried in history. He studied with Zakhar Bron and Accardo, and since 2012 has been a professor at the "Leopold Mozart Center" at the University of Augsburg. 1703 Stravdivari "Dancla" King International
