The Bach-Schmölli Lieder for Boy Soprano (BWV 439-537) is a collection of religious songs compiled by Georg Christian Schmölli with the help of Bach. 954 songs are included, but most of them have only lyrics and melody names (without scores). Only 69 of them have lyrics and scores, and only three of them (BWV 452, 478, and 505) are attributed to Bach. These are relatively few of Bach's works that have been recorded. The fact is that there have been few Bach conductors who have used boy sopranos since Arnoncourt. Constantin Emanuel was 15 years old at the time of recording. He studied under Ernst Raffelsberger, the chorus conductor of the Zurich Opera, and has won prizes in various competitions.She has appeared in concert in religious works by Mendelssohn, and also at the Zurich Opera House as Amor in "Ulisse's Homecoming" conducted by Bolton. The boy soprano's voice is still fresh to the ears accustomed to the mastery of the male alto. The Schmelli Lieder contains 14 songs, one of which is a Bach work. However, both Bach and non-Bach melodies are sung with purity of voice. Copeman's organ adds to the limpid atmosphere. King International
