BeggarsBanquet—the label that has launched the careers of numerous legendary artists such as The Cult, Bauhaus, The Charlatans, Gary Numan, and The Fall—is releasing a 5-CD box set packed with rare recordings by Fields of the Nepilim! Formed in 1984 in Hertfordshire, England, the band was centered around vocalist Carl McCoy. At that time in London, a dark and heavy sound—often categorized as “positive punk” or “gothic rock” and spearheaded by bands like the Sisters of Mercy, Southern Death Cult (later The Cult), and The Mission—was gaining popularity, particularly within the underground scene, and Fields of the Nepilim also garnered attention within that scene. This box set includes their first three original albums—widely regarded as masterpieces—the live album *EarthInferno*, featuring performances from 1990, and *Singles & Mixes*, a compilation of singles and remixes put together specifically for this box set!
