The Doors' legendary debut live performance at the Matrix in San Francisco in March 1967, the night before their big breakthrough, has been vividly captured on an original master tape. The Doors fans have been eagerly awaiting the long-awaited release of the legendary "Live at the Matrix," and now the complete set of the original master recordings is available on 3 CDs! The Doors were just months away from stardom in March 1967, when they played a few sparsely attended shows at the John Densmore Matrix, a small club in San Francisco. That all-consuming performance would have been fleeting had it not been for Peter Abram, who, along with Jefferson Airplane co-founder Marty Balin, owned the nightclub in a converted pizza parlor. Abram, an avid recordist, regularly recorded concerts at The Matrix, including a Doors show that ran from March 7-11, 1967. Abram's recordings would go on to produce one of the band's most anecdotal pirate editions...The Matrix show, which originated from Abram's original master recording, will be released in its entirety on September 8 under the title "LIVE AT THE MATRIX 1967: THE ORIGINAL MASTERS". This release will consist of two formats: a 3-CD set containing their performances on March 7 and 10, and a 6-LP analog set consisting of 5 LPs and a 7-inch analog set. (1/2)
