WAKE OF THE FLOOD", the band's transformative album, and their second album for their own Grateful Dead Records label, "FROM THE MARS HOTEL".In the eight months between the last album and the release of this one, the band continued to captivate audiences with some of the most exploratory live performances in music history, including the first performance of their famous "homemade wall of sound," a 75-ton pile of equipment at the Cow Palace in Daly City, California, the band's hometown. The 50th anniversary edition of "MARS HOTEL" will be released in three formats: a 3CD deluxe edition with demos and rare, unreleased live recordings, a 180-gram weight vinyl analog version containing the original album material, and a limited edition Zoetrope picture analog version. All of the remastered recordings are based on master tapes that have been restored and sped up through a plangent process, and are the latest remastered recordings by Grammy Award-winning engineer David Glasser. Grateful Dead legacy manager and audio archivist David Lemieux is also producing this 50th anniversary edition.This limited edition Zoetrope Picture Analog vinyl is a picture analog with a stunning picture printed in partnership with zoetrope pioneer Drew Tetz. When viewed with a camera or strobe light, the picture analogs begin to animate as they spin on the turntable, making this an extremely valuable product.
