Paris, Texas" is a road movie masterpiece directed by the German genius Wenders, who is known as the "standard-bearer of the New German Cinema" for such films as "An American Friend" and "Berlin: The Poem of an Angel". Harry Dean Stanton and Nastassja Kinski give strong performances as the protagonist and his wife, respectively, who once abandoned their family but are now trying to find their love again, while the original story and screenplay were written by Sam Shepard, who also worked as an actor. The film is based on the 37th (1984) film "The Greatest Love Story of All Time" by Sam Shepard, who also worked as an actor. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 37th Cannes Film Festival (1984). The film's soundtrack is composed by Ry Cooder, a great American musician and the embodiment of the great American music, who collaborated for the first time on this film. His music, which beautifully depicts the psychology of the main character with his slide guitar, struck a chord with the audience, and the soundtrack won a BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) for best composition, as well as other acclaim. The soundtrack to this Ry Cooder road movie masterpiece is being reissued on opaque red colored vinyl to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its release.
