Formed in the UK in 1967, the band enjoyed immense popularity in the 1970s as a lyrical yet theatrical progressive rock band, and in the ’80s, by emphasizing pop elements, rose to the pinnacle of the music scene as a globally beloved band—this is Genesis, a quintessential British rock band and one of the five greatest progressive rock bands of all time. Their album *The Lamblies Down on Broadway* (Japanese title: *Maboroshi no Broadway*), released on November 22, 1974, can be considered a truly groundbreaking work even among Genesis’s many outstanding albums. Released at the very peak of their success—during the band’s early years, which also marked the Peter Gabriel era, when they were already highly acclaimed—this album holds an extremely important place in the history of Genesis.
