The band consists of Norwegian Harganger fiddle player Nils Okland and guitarists and drummers Per Steinar Lie and Orjan Haaland, who play in the Norwegian 'post rock' group The Low Frequency In Stereo, Lumen Drones' ECM debut. Described as a "psychedelic drone band," their roots began in 2008 when Nils was invited to play a song on The Low~'s "Futuro" album. Since that session, we kept in touch with each other to see what kind of music we liked," said Nils. We all lived in the same town, so we would meet up every once in a while and talk about what we could do together, and in 2010 I played in the same ensemble at a charity concert for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, which was so well-received that we decided to form a band." We started recording an improvisational demo. We spent a lot of time jamming melody lines, riffs, and rhythm patterns.The music is from very different backgrounds. The musical backgrounds are very different, so you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of this one, which is improvised but also has a great deal of folk music elements.
