A new album from Swiss pianist/composer Thierry Lang's newly formed trio. Lang's greatest love is Bill Evans, who visited Japan in September 2014 and captivated fans. This album also captivates listeners from the very first note with Lang's unique melodies, tightly woven harmonic inventions, and the strength of his hands and fingering. It is an elegant and somewhat nostalgic album, yet one that breathes new life. Lang has recently been busy supporting Abbot Bovet and working with chamber orchestras and choirs, but he has finally returned to the trio, where you can feel the "purest form of jazz pianist"! Bassist Heiri Kaenzig, who has been with him for 20 years, and Zurich-born percussionist Andi Pupato, who is participating in the trio for the first time, join him to start a new trio with this album. "We first rehearsed together in Lucerne in July 2013. Andi blended in with us immediately."Playing with him made me realize exactly what I wanted to do. Drummers always have a presence, but Andi sometimes prefers silence. This opened doors I never knew existed, greatly expanding my expressive range. Andi guided me to this work."
