Mantler has re-examined the score of this work and recorded not only new versions of material from that time, but also material that could not be recorded at the time, imagining what his music from the 60's would be like if he tried it in the 21st century, and has created a radio.string.quartet.vienna. This remarkable work was recorded at the Porgy & Bess club in Vienna, as it was in 1968, with a big band led by Christoph Cech and the electric guitar of Bjarne Roupe.
