Since the release of her critically acclaimed and long-selling 2018 masterpiece, Hundreds of Days, LA harpist Mary Lattimore has embarked on numerous world tours, collaborations with Meg Baird and Superchunk's Mac Since the release of his critically acclaimed and long-selling 2018 masterpiece, Hundreds of Days, he has gone on numerous world tours, collaborated with Meg Baird and Superchunk's Mac McCaughan, and released a remix album featuring familiar and talented artists like Sigur Ros' Jonsi and Julianna Barwick. She was introduced to Neil Halstead through a friend while performing at a festival together, and the two hit it off and decided to work with him on the next album as producer and collaborator. Mary had been basically producing the album herself, so this was a big turning point for her. She flew to Newquay, Cornwall, where he lives, and began work on the album.In fact, at that point, Neil had never recorded harp before, but strangely enough, it worked out really well. Recorded over nine days in Halsted's studio, which was located in an old airfield, "Silver Ladders" is her new masterpiece. Mary's unique style of manipulating effects pedals and harp has been further refined through touring and various experiences, and while the harp layers are vast, accented by low-end synths and Neil's floating guitar, the sound is more meshing than one might expect. At first listen, it may seem dissonant, but the colorful sounds, like the overtones of the ocean changing with the tides, draw you in. With Neil's help, the two artists' sensibilities were perfectly fused and synergized to create an emotional and dramatic sound. This is a dignified and beautiful work, full of confidence as an artist and giving the impression of having reached a new level.The Spice Girls' Greatest Hits LP is now available in 180g weight vinyl!
