Blue Note releases a new project from one of the world's most beloved guitarists, Bill Frisell. Produced by longtime Frizzell collaborator Lee Townsend and recorded by Tucker Martine at Flora Recording in Portland, Oregon. This project, HARMONY, is a four-piece group. Petra Haden, vocalist and third daughter of Charlie Haden, two longtime collaborators of Frisell's, Hank Roberts on cello and vocals, and newcomer Luke Bergman on acoustic guitar, baritone guitar, bass, and singing. acoustic guitar, baritone guitar, bass, and singing.Bill Frisell's career began with John Scofield's 1992 album "Grace Under Pressure" and has continued with Don Byron (Romance With The Unseen), Ron Carter (Orfeu), Norah Jones ("Come Away With Me"), and others. Frisell's music is a vast, genre-bending universe that transcends genres, and his own music is consistently respectful of the American musical landscape as a whole, and his personal style is a reflection of his personal and professional life. This is his first album under his own name, and it is a masterpiece of Americana, respectful of American music as a whole and sincere in its expression of his personal history.
