This album reunites Stan Getz with Luis Bonfá and Maria Toledo, creating an atmosphere more intimate and introspective than the groundbreaking predecessor Jazz Samba. It is shaped by Bonfá's darker, more shadowy harmonies, Toledo's unique vocals and percussive presence, and Getz's warm, relaxed lyricism. Alongside Bonfá's originals, it includes works by Antonio Carlos Jobim such as "So Dança a Samba" and "Insensatos." The dialogue woven between Brazilian song and American jazz phrasing deepens, with Bonfá's nylon-string guitar laying a foundation of delicate rhythm and harmony, and Toledo adding layers of texture and emotional nuance.
