This work is the story of an artist reclaiming her creativity and sharing her love for music that inspires liberation.Simultaneously, it is also the story of a dystopian science fiction novel published in Russia in 1920—during the era when jazz was flourishing in America: Yevgeny Zamyatin's We. In a world where humans are reduced to numbers to blend into the collective, the protagonist D-503 falls in love with the rebellious woman i-330. Flore Benguigui's tribute to her is expressed through a retro-futuristic sound device called the "Time-Stirring Machine." This apparatus was designed by the female architecture and stage design collective Atelier All Form, specifically by her sister Fanny. In the summer of 2025, twelve songs were recorded live over five days. There was a commitment to sonic improvisation, embracing rough edges and even imperfections. Surrounded by an upright piano, grand piano, synthesizers, and vintage microphones, Flore healed the wounds left by the grueling chapter with L'Imperatrice. Joined by a team radiating infectious energy, they embodied jazz's most joyful and accessible side.
