A 1966 Impulse! release that introduced Hungarian guitarist Gábor Szabó to a broader American audience with a set blending modal jazz, Eastern European folk influences, and the textures of 1960s pop. Recorded in May 1966 at Rudy Van Gelder's Inglewood Cliffs Studio and produced by Bob Thiele. Featuring bassist Ron Carter, drummer Chico Hamilton, and percussionists Willie Bobo and Victor Pantoja. The group's hypnotic fusion of groove and drone helped establish Sabo's signature approach: vamp-based forms, sitar-like guitar articulation, and modal lines shaped by his Eastern European heritage. The title track is a slowly building vamp that showcases Sabo's minimalist phrasing and rhythmic sensibility.
