This is the first new record by Julia Huelsmann's quartet in two and a half years. The quartet returns with its horn, the voice of Norway, and presents a thoughtful exploration of the group's commonalities, as well as some adventurous and fascinating original compositions. As in past works, each member contributes a song to the session, with the leader himself handling half of the program.Saxophonist Uli Kempendorf's participation in Julia's trio on 2019's Not Far From Here had already brought a new dimension to the group's interplay, but this feeling was again amplified, joining the quartet on trumpet and supply articulation goat horns on five cuts.
