The new album by guitar virtuoso Julian Rage is already available! Following the acclaimed album "View With A Room" and its Grammy-nominated follow-up "The Layers," this is his fourth notable release. For this album, the band has expanded its sonic palette with the addition of respected producer Joe Henry (Rhiannon Giddens, Bettye Lovett, Michel Ndegeocello, Alan Toussaint, Elvis Costello). In addition to his longtime trio with bassist Jorge Roeder and drummer Dave King, he is joined by saxophonist Levon Henry and keyboardist Patrick Warren. Singer/songwriter/producer Joe Henry, who has worked on groundbreaking albums by numerous artists, says that when he first heard Rage's songs in rough form, he was immediately captivated by the challenge. He says, "For me, it was like, 'How do you make a record where Julian is improvising from start to finish?' Julien does his gift of improvisation throughout, while we listen to the songs.Everything had to be present to serve the form of the song," he commented.
