American composer Taylor Scott Davis presents a magnificent showcase of Christmas music, featuring stunning, cinematic new arrangements of favorite carols, including world premiere recordings of his latest works and new arrangements. The centerpiece of the album is Davis’s magnificent new work for choir and orchestra, *Magnificat*, which was originally commissioned for VOCES8’s “Live From London” festival. The album also features “The Sleeping Child,” a gentle and intimate new a cappella carol written especially for VOCES8 by British composer Bob Chilcott. The “VOCES8 Foundation Choir” and “VOCES8 Foundation Orchestra” participated in the recording for the first time.
