Released in May 1972, Honky Chateau made Elton a superstar and ushered in a new era for him. Named after the residential studio outside Paris where the album was recorded, Honky Chateau is a masterpiece that brought a new level of simplicity and directness to Elton's music. This limited edition 2LP set includes outtakes from the Honky Chateau sessions, newly created by Matt Still from the original tapes, mastered at Lurssen in California, and cut on analog at Abbey Road.
