The 50th anniversary edition of The Band's fourth studio album, "Cahoots," released in 1971, including newly remastered remixes The multi-format Super Deluxe Edition box set features a new The multi-format Super Deluxe Edition box set includes a new mix by Bob Clearmountain. As with previous 50th anniversary editions of The Band's albums, this edition of Cahoots was overseen by main songwriter Robbie Robertson. It features a new stereo mix created by Bob Clearmountain from the original multitrack master tapes. It contains many previously unreleased recordings, including a live recording made in May 1971 at the Théâtre Olympique in Paris. This is the official bootleg recording of The Band's immensely successful European tour, and consists of 11 songs that document some of the most passionate concerts. You will also hear early and alternate versions of "Endless Highway" and "When I Paint My Masterpiece," as well as early takes, outtakes, instrumental versions, and reduced-sound mixes of six songs. Along with the new stereo mixes, Clear Mountain's new Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround mixes of the full-length "Cahoots" and four bonus tracks are also included (in high-res audio on the Blu-ray disc). Both new mixes were mastered by Adam Ryan of Gateway Mastering.This box set includes a reissue of the 1971 Japanese 7" single "Life Is A Carnival b/w The Moon Struck One" (featuring a new stereo mix), a 20-page booklet with a new essay by Robbie Robertson and detailed liner notes by Rob Bowman, Barry Feinstein and Richard Avedon (the famous photo on the back jacket with all the members with their eyes closed), a booklet by noted New York artist/illustrator (the famous photo on the back jacket showing all the members with their eyes closed), a 20-page booklet with detailed liner notes by Robbie Robertson, Barry Feinstein, and Richard Avedon, and a book by renowned New York painter/illustrator Gilbert Stone (who drew the members of The Band in a stretched-out version of "Cahoots").
