Anaklasis" is a label operated by the Polish Music Publishing House (PWM Edition), one of the largest music publishing houses in Poland, founded in 1945 in Krakow. From the "REVISIONS" series, which introduces new musical worlds such as electronic music and improvised music, comes Michael Bates, an up-and-coming double bass player from Canada who is active in New York City! In the past, the series has combined jazz and improvisation with Polish music by Wieniawski, Szymanowski, Wojciech Kilar, Monieuxko, and many others, but this time, Michael Bates will perform the music of Witold Lutoslawski, a 20th century Polish master who established the foundation of the Polish musical school. This time around, Michael Bates will perform a brilliant arrangement of the music of Witold Lutoslawski, the 20th century Polish master who laid the foundation for the Polish musical movement. Bates' quintet "Acrobat," led by New York jazzmen, has previously released an album "Music for, and by, Dmitri Shostakovich," using music by Shostakovich, and the transition from Shostakovich to Lutoslawski The transition of the project from Shostakovich to Lutoslawski is also of interest.Michael Bates Acrobat and the Lutoslawski Quartet gave the dazzling premiere of Bates' arrangement of Lutoslawski's work at the Jazztopad Festival (New York edition) in June 2022, and met again in Wroclaw a few months later to record this album.
