NIFC's "new" collection of Chopin songs! The instruments used are the original Pleyel and Erard! One of the best-selling titles of NIFC, the independent label of the Polish National Chopin Institute, is a collection of Chopin's Lieder, Op.74 (NIFCCD 037), sung by Hana Bruskova, a soprano well-known for her guest appearances with BCJ. This time around, we have the Ukrainian-born soprano Olga Paszcznik, who is now an integral part of the Polish vocal scene, with the masterful Kevin Kenner, and the famous Polish baritone Mariusz Godlewski, who impressed us with his excellent singing in "Monieuszko: Lieder" (NIFCCD 112), with Katarzyna Popova-Katařina Popova-Katarzyna, who is now an integral part of the Polish vocal scene, with the famous Polish baritone Mariusz Godlewski The two singers are Mariusz Godlewski and Radoslaw Krek, who is a talented singer under Katařina Popova-Zidoron. The instruments used in the previous Bruskova disc were replicas of a Graf made around 1819 by the master craftsman McNulty, while Paszcznik & Kenner used an 1848 Pleyel, and Godlewski & Kleck used the original 1838 Erard.The blend of the voices of the great singers with the original instruments of Chopin's time is also a pleasure to listen to.
