Mitsuko Uchida's Live Chopin Competition! The original NIFC Chopin Competition Live series finally releases Mitsuko Uchida's recording! The 1970 competition live performance in which Mitsuko Uchida won the second prize, the highest Japanese ever! This is the first time that these extremely valuable recordings have been made available on CD in a comprehensive format! The Blue Series, a series of live competition recordings released by the Polish National Institute of Chopin (NIFC), the organizer of the International Chopin Piano Competition, finally presents Mitsuko Uchida's live performance of the competition! She won the second prize at the 8th Chopin Competition in 1970, and has held the title of "the highest Japanese ever" along with Kyohei Totta in 2021, until October 6, 2025. Although it was an important competition that enhanced Uchida's fame and paved the way for her career as a world-class pianist, some of the pieces (Sonata No. 2, etc.) were once recorded on a limited number of LPs and CDs, but most of them are hard to find, and the entire competition (first round, second round, and final stage) has never been released on an album. This will be the first time that the entire competition (1st Preliminary Round, 2nd Preliminary Round, and Final Stage) will be made into an album. Tokyo M-Plus
