From the "Jazz z MACV (Jazz with MACV)" series—a key initiative of Musica Antiqua Collegium Varsoviense (MACV) that blends early music with jazz to offer a completely new perspective on classical music—comes a collection of Mozart piano concertos featuring jazz improvisation, particularly during the cadenzas. Polish pianist Filip Wojciechowski delivers a performance brimming with creativity and inspiration. He studied piano with Władysław Kawala at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and has won numerous international competitions. He is also active in the jazz field, as exemplified by his great success with the Central Heating Trio, and is known as an artist well-versed in both classical and jazz.This project presented a new challenge for Wojciechowski, yet the improvisational elements common to 18th-century music and jazz served as a bridge, seamlessly uniting them. It proved that while paying the utmost respect to Mozart, there remains room for fresh interpretation. This approach transcending time and genre breathes new life into the masterpiece. The piano used is a replica of a Pleyel (430Hz) crafted by master modern piano maker Paul McNulty. Tokyo M Plus
