The symphonies of Grzegorz Fitelberg join the series of discoveries of works by unknown Polish musicians promoted by Ukas Borowicz, the young master of the next generation of the Polish musical world! This album features the world premiere recording of the only symphony composed by Głęgosz Fiterberg, a Jewish-Polish violinist, composer, and conductor from present-day Latvia, who was also a member of the Young Polish (Młoda Polska) with Szymanowski, Karłowicz, Ruzicki, Scheldt, and others. The world premiere recording of the symphony. Fiterberg was known as a man of many facets, including being a prominent conductor and energetic promoter, and he had a profound influence on Polish music after the restoration of Polish independence in 1918 and after World War II.Composed in 1904, the work shows evidence of absorbing European trends of the time in many places, including the first movement, which contains the central motif of the entire symphony, the melodically beautiful second movement, and the third movement, with its lively, modern harmony. Along with the early works of Karol Szymanowski, who was often conducted by Fiterberg, the Polish symphony occupies a pivotal position in the development of Polish symphonic music.
