The two "Chaconnes" that give the album its title are newly recorded in 2023, and include the usual "violin solo" version and a "violin and viola" version that he arranged and recorded multiply. Other recordings include "La Follia by Corelli" and "La Romanesca by Sol" (recorded in 1985), both in chaconne form, also based on basso ostinato; Tartini's "The Devil's Trill" (recorded in 2006), accompanied by the Polish Chamber Orchestra, of which Kostecki was the Assistant Artistic Director; and "The Devil's Trill" (recorded in 2007), performed by the Hanover Chamber Orchestra, which he has conducted for many years. Vitali and Handel with the Hanover Chamber Orchestra (recorded in 2011), which Kostecki has conducted for many years. Adam Kostecki was born in Poland, studied at the Moscow Conservatory with David Oistrakh and others, and at the same time was greatly inspired by Isaac Stern, Henryk Schelling, Nathan Milstein, Yehudi Menuhin, and other masters, and developed as a violinist. After serving as concertmaster of top orchestras in Germany, he has been deputy artistic director of the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor of the Hannover Chamber Orchestra, and since 1992 has been appointed professor of violin at the Hannover University of Music. *Recordings: 1985 (3, 9), 2006 (4-8), 2011 (10-11), 2023 (1-2) (Tokyo M-Plus)
