Sramita Silbowska studied at the Karol Szymanowski Conservatory in Katowice, and since 2020 she has been teaching younger students as an assistant professor. She has studied under such outstanding educators as Pierre Amoyal, Gidon Kremer, and Pinkas Zukerman, and has won first prize at the International "Young Paganini" Violin Competition in Legnica, first prize at the Polish National Competition for Young Violinists, and many other She is a talented violinist who has won top prizes in many competitions. In this album, she performs sonatas by Bacewicz, Prokofiev, and Pärt's most frequently performed work, Fratres (originally for chamber ensemble), which is written in the Tintinabli style (a technique in which three simple chords are played as if they were a single bell). The original is a work for chamber ensemble, but Pelto's own version for violin and piano is used in combination. Tokyo M-Plus
