Presenting a program that conveys the charm and essence of Rachmaninoff’s “transcriptions” is Ivan Shemchuk (b. 1994), a young pianist from Chernivtsi, Ukraine. After studying piano in Ukraine, Shemchuk moved to Poland, where he began to make a name for himself. Starting with the 10th International Piano Forum held in Sanok, Poland, he has achieved outstanding results in competitions in Denmark, Russia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, and Poland, and is expected to make great strides in his career. Alina Andriuti, who partners with Shemchuk on “Op. 11” for piano duet, is a female pianist from Moldova. She serves as an accompanist in the classes of Andrzej Bauer and Bartosz Kożak and is also active as a pianist at the Romanian National Opera. Tokyo M Plus
