Description:
Debut disc by a young Danish gem! The "Diabelli Variations. The "Diabelli Variations" were composed by Beethoven in 1823, the year after the "Hammerklavier" sonata, along with three other sonatas (Op.109 in E major, Op.110 in A flat major, and Op.111 in C minor), in which he explored new textures and expressions on the piano. This is the second time that the Danacord label has released this work, following the recording by Christina Bjerke (DACOCD747) (2014). Gustav Piekut was born in Denmark in 1995, studied piano at the age of 6, and made his orchestral debut at the age of 12 with the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra. Two years later, he began performing with orchestras throughout Europe, including the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. She studied with Martin Lüsholm Jeppesen in Aarhus until 2013. He received a German scholarship to study with Prof. Klaus Helwig at the Berlin University of the Arts.He is a three-time winner of the Steinway Festival, an international competition in Denmark (2008, 2010, 2012), and won the second prize at the 2017 Aarhus International Piano Competition, together with the Audience Prize, Carl Nilsen Prize, and EMCY Prize. The Diabelli Variations is Peakto's debut album. Created with a compositional technique that "transforms" a "waltz" theme, it is "the greatest piano work ever written" (Alfred Brendel) and frankly projects "the 23-year-old now. Recorded at the "Anexet" hall of the venerable "Longsgaard Estate" in Kærtemine, Fynn Island, Denmark. Tokyo M-Plus
