Description:
Bouncing between the Baroque and the Classical, the carefree Sonata Ignazio Cirri (1711-1787) was an Italian organist and composer, and a friend of Giovanni Martini, the composer who taught counterpoint to Mozart. His works have rarely been featured, and he is almost an unknown composer. His "Op. 2" is a collection of sonatas in which the violin and harpsichord are treated equally. The two players engage in a detailed and intimate conversation. The music is joyful in its carefree rhythmic patterns, bouncing lightly between the baroque and the classical. The recording is also very impressive, with the characteristic harpsichord spreading wide to the left and right. King International
