Debut of a blues band consisting of four members of the Songai tribe of Mali! The band has received rave reviews from Damon Albarn and Brian Eno! Julian Casablancas of The Strokes has been selected as a supporting act! Newcomers from Transgressive, which has produced the Falls and Circa Waves! Songoi Blues, a 4-piece rock band from the Songai tribe in Mali, West Africa! The Songhay tribe lives in a tribe divided between the Republic of Mali and the Republic of Niger. They have overcome civil war, conflict, and a black history of being banned from performing and broadcasting their music, and are proud to call themselves the Songhay. The young people who grew up listening to hip-hop, R&B, and rock music have created a sound that blends traditional local styles with modern guitar and bass music. Their music was selected for the album "Maisondes Jeunes" by Africa Express, a music project led by Damon Albarn, which led to their signing with
