Dropkick Murphys to Release New Album "Turn Up That Dial" on April 30, Four Years After Last Album Reached #8 in the U.S. Dropkick Murphys will release their tenth studio album, Turn Up That Dial, on April 30, 2021. The overall theme of the record is to "turn up that dial. The overall theme of the record is the importance of music. With "Turn Up That Dial," Dropkick Murphys celebrates the simple joy of music, as band founder and co-lead vocalist Ken Casey says, "We hope the album will put everyone out of their misery. Recorded at Q Division studios in Somerville, Massachusetts, with the band's longtime producer, Ted Hutt. Work proceeded in shifts with two members recording at a time, and in the final weeks of recording, Hutt conducted the sessions via videoconference from his studio in Los Angeles. For the backing vocals, for example, microphones were set up in five different rooms so that everyone could sing safely.The album will be released on the band's own Born & Bred label and will feature 11 songs, including the already released "Smash Shit Up," "Mick Jones Nicked My Pudding," "I Wish You Were Here" and "Middle Finger.
