Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy's new 3-CD album "Twilight Override" (analog) Chicago, U.S., rock band Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy has released a new 3-CD album, "Twilight Override," his first album in 5 years since the release of "Love Is The King" in 2020. Recorded and self-produced at The Loft, a studio in Chicago, with engineering and mixing by Tom Schick. The album was produced by Chicago-based friends and family: James Elkington, Sima Cunningham, Macy Stewart, Liam Kazer, and Tweedy's children Spencer and Sammy. The three-disc set consists of three independent chapters, but together they also tell the story of the past, present, and future. The included singles "One Tiny Flower," "Out In The Dark," and "Stray Cats in Spain" and the radio single "Enough" are selected from each of the three discs, offering a glimpse into the musical and thematic breadth of the album. The album opens with "One Tiny Flower," a propulsive, whimsical song about a man who trips over a flower and dies. Out In The Dark" reflects on the songwriting process through a story about a moonless planet. Stray Cats in Spain" is one of the most personal songs on the album.The radio single "Enough" is the meditative closer to "Twilight Override" and, according to Tweedy, "sums it up. This song is the light you're going for throughout the whole album. It's the light you're going for throughout the whole record. You're never going to be completely okay. You can never completely fill yourself with everything you love. You are endless, deep, and greedy. If you are doing it right. Stop thinking so deeply about things you can't control," he said. Jeff Tweedy did not deliberately plan a cohesive narrative for the album, but after a few listens, it became apparent that there was a connection between the songs. He said, "I didn't have the whole story of the album in mind, but the way it eventually came together and was arranged tells the story I think I wanted to tell. That's the process for me. So, aside from the tempo and the music, this order just felt right to me. The music all came together to sound like this, which is more than I could have imagined. It sounds like a mosaic and smells like pomade," he said.
